Government called on to respect democracy, free speech, transparency

Press conference announced by new coalition Voices-Voix

A new coalition, Voices-Voix, is sounding the alarm that the quality and health of democratic life in Canada is under serious threat. Voice-Voix will be speaking out against the silencing of dissent by the government.
At a news conference on Thursday June 17 Voices will call on the government to be transparent and to respect democracy and freedom of expression.
Voices-Voix will release its Declaration signed by human rights, women’s, aboriginal, labour, environment, student, faith-based and development organizations.
Note: The Quebec-based coalition, Pas de démocratie sans voix! will also be holding a press conference on June 17th in Montreal.
