Have your say on electoral reform in Canada!

All through October, there are opportunities across the country to have your say on how to fix our voting system to make it more fair, equitable & representative. Until Oct. 7, 2016, an all-party committee on electoral reform will be traveling the country to get our input. At the same time, Minister of Democratic Institutions Maryam Monsef will be holding her own tour to gather input, various MPs are organizing townhalls, and community groups are organizing events.

This consultation is thanks to a long-running, grassroots campaign by groups like Fair Vote Canada to fix our broken electoral system - one where in the last election one party one 39% of the vote, 54% of the seats in parliament, and 100% of power in Ottawa.

Below is a list of all the currently scheduled events until October 7th. We'll update the list, or you can find a calendar here.

If you can't make it to these events, there are other ways to participate: an online survey, submitting a brief, or appearing at a committe meeting. You can find all the details here.

Looking for more information on our electoral system and what this is all about? The goverment has lots of information here. Or Fair Vote Canada is a wealth of resources.

It's important that we reform our electoral system, but not all reforms will fix the system. Learn more and take part!
