Minister who sponsored spy legislation complains about anonymous Tweets

Public Safety Minister Vic Toews has complained to the House of Commons Speaker about anonymous tweets relating to his personal life.

The letter cites the privilege of politicians to have their personal lives kept away from public scrutiny, unlike discussion of policies.

Minister Toews sponsored spy legislation that would force Internet Service Providers to allow access to private data without a warrant, install expensive surveillance equipment and give the Minister the ability to appoint anyone to search the data - not just police.
