A forensic audit cleared her late husband of wrongdoing, and performance bonuses that were denied to him have finally been paid out; now Suzanne Trépanier believes it’s time for the government to take the final step and restore his reputation fully.

She said she has no doubt that, in the eyes of the general public, Rémy Beauregard did not deserve what he went through as president of Rights & Democracy, the federal human-rights agency that he led until he died of a heart attack in January, 2010. [...]
