A government for all Conservatives

It's probably time to ask ourselves whether Canada is a mature democracy or not. In developed countries, there are healthy, defined boundaries between the government and partisan interests, so that the state can't use its legal (and sweeping) powers to punish its enemies.

You know, the kind of stuff that we preach about on the international stage. Or, if you like, the kind of thing that got the Liberals in trouble in Quebec in the sponsorship scandal. [...]

Is it the Conservative party or you, the taxpayers?

Do we decide our international-aid priorities based on expert advice or partisan concerns? 

And when did the Prime Minister's Office become responsible for campaign-personnel announcements? [...]
