Tell Prime Minister Trudeau to consult with Canadians now, while there's still time to undo C-51

09 November, 2015—Today, Voices-Voix joined Open Media and 20 organizations in calling on the Canadian government and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to consult in an open, clear and timely manner with Canadians about how to undo the reckless, dangerous, and ineffective spy powers created by C-51 while there’s still time. Dear Prime Minister Trudeau,

I am writing to invite you to join Canadians in a conversation about Bill C-51. We know this legislation is reckless, dangerous, and ineffective. And we want to be a part of the solution.

The voices of Canadians deserve to be heard. Are you willing to listen?

Who: Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, OpenMedia, concerned civil society groups, and over 300,000 concerned Canadians from coast to coast to coast.

What: A national consultation about the public’s concerns on C-51.

When: BEFORE new legislation is introduced.

Where: We’re flexible. Your place or ours?

Why: We need to ensure the repeal of the dangerous new powers this reckless legislation introduced, for once and for all. Engagement early in the legislative process is a key pillar of a more participatory democracy.

RSVP: Before parliament resumes.
