Whistle-blower Sues Ottawa

A Canadian bureaucrat who claims he was punished for blowing the whistle on security problems and unethical managers is suing the federal government.

Ian Bron, 41, claims Transport Canada managers persecuted him over a confidential report he wrote about gaps in Canada's marine security regulations and "unethical management practices." Now with Public Works, Bron served earlier as chief of marine and aviation security regulatory affairs (2004 —2006). He says many allegations in his statement of claim filed in September are in his still-secret report delivered Dec. 12, 2006. [...]
